A collection of photos from Crete's major airport, taken on arrival, departure & during a day at the airport on a Sunday. Photography is forbidden at the airport or from the terminal building (!) so the best place for photography is from the top of the hillside level with the 27 threshold.

Almost a DTV spotters club outing! 8 of us made an early start for a morning on the south side followed by a couple of hours in the Tatton Arms car park.

Arriving back at Geneva before lunchtime we did another circuit of the field and then spent the afternoon logging & taking the occasional photo from the cafe/beer garden opposite the terminal. The weather continued to deteriorate and we retired to the terminal at dusk to await our flight home.

Having made the decision to head home a day early due to expected bad weather in the UK we set off before dawn for Geneva & stopped at Bern where we found some snow & a few diversions from Geneva, which had been closed earlier in the morning.

After arriving from Geneva after dark we were up before dawn logging the aircraft parked in the terminal area, before moving round to the West side of the field to watch the movements. The day was completed with an afternoon ramp tour. Shame about the poor light.

Day one of a trip to Switzerland to catch the movements connected to the Davos Economic summit. A flight to Geneva and a quick circuit of the field to log the aircraft present was followed by a drive to Zurich in preparation for the main event.

A great little airport for aircraft photography but unfortunately not very busy! there are only 3 check-in desks and the apron can only manage up to 3 passenger aircraft at a time. Some weekdays the airport is closed for the majority of the day. There are good vantage points for photography of aircraft on approach at each end of the field and there is a public road running right around the perimeter... But you'll have to be prepared to wait !
